Chartered in 2019, the Rotary Club of Chennai Amethyst is a community of young professionals in Chennai who came together with a simple belief: that Rotary can be personal, transparent, and deeply meaningful.
We are a club built on fellowship first. From our signature Ametrine Breakfast Mornings at heritage restaurants across the city to our family celebrations and creative meetups, we believe that strong bonds lead to strong service. When members genuinely enjoy showing up, everything else follows.
Our approach to governance sets us apart. We document every meeting, every decision, every resolution. Our updated bylaws include a Council of Leaders for long-term continuity, a formal grievance mechanism, structured project approvals, and a comprehensive communication charter. We believe that a well-run club earns the trust of its members and the community it serves.
In service, we focus on what we can do well rather than what looks impressive. Whether it is supporting a student whose family is in crisis, funding a surgery for someone who cannot afford it, or screening children at rural schools for dental health, our projects are personal. Every initiative is proposed by a member, approved by the board, and executed with care.
Our members represent the club at the district and international level, carrying the Amethyst flag across borders, mentoring young leaders, and taking on leadership roles that extend beyond the club.
We are not the biggest club. We are not the oldest. But we are intentional about everything we do. Every member hosts. Every member serves. Every member belongs.
